The first light of dawn crept into Li Chen's room, stirring him from a restful sleep filled with dreams of immense power and ancient legends. As the sun began to rise, casting a golden hue over Jinling City, Li Chen knew today would mark the beginning of his true journey as a cultivator.
With eager anticipation, he set out for the family library, a place whispered about with reverence among the younger members of the Li family. It was here that the sacred texts and cultivation techniques were kept, guiding generations of the Li family in their pursuit of power and wisdom.
The family library was an imposing structure, built with ancient stones and intricate carvings that depicted the history and achievements of the Li clan. The entrance was flanked by statues of past patriarchs, their gazes stern and unwavering, as if guarding the knowledge within. Li Chen paused for a moment to take in the grandeur before stepping inside.
Inside, the library was a marvel of architectural beauty and scholarly dedication. Rows upon rows of shelves reached up to a high ceiling, filled with scrolls and books that seemed to pulse with a life of their own. The scent of aged paper and ink filled the air, mingling with the faint aroma of incense. Sunlight streamed through tall windows, casting patterns of light and shadow on the polished wooden floor.
As Li Chen entered the main hall, he saw that the other newly awakened youths were already present, their expressions a mix of excitement and nervousness. Standing before them was an elderly man, his presence commanding yet gentle. This was Li Xuan, a clan elder from Li Chen's grandfather's generation. Despite his age, Li Xuan's posture was straight, and his eyes sparkled with vitality. His hair was mostly black, with streaks of white that added to his distinguished appearance.
"Good morning, young ones," Li Xuan greeted them, his voice steady and warm. "Today, we will determine your aligned attributes, which will guide you in choosing the appropriate cultivation techniques."
He produced a small, intricately carved stone from his robes, known as the Elemental Affinity Stone. "This stone will reveal your elemental attributes. The common attributes are Gold, Fire, Water, Wood, and Earth. There are also rare attributes like Wind and Thunder, and complex attributes such as Ice, which is a combination of Water and Wind."
One by one, the newly awakened stepped forward to place their hands on the stone, each hoping to discover their unique affinity.
First was Li Shan, whose Golden Lion bloodline made the stone glow with a brilliant golden light. "Gold attribute," Li Xuan announced, nodding approvingly.
Next was Li Hua. The stone radiated a warm yellow light, indicative of an Earth attribute. Li Xuan smiled, "Earth attribute."
Li Wei stepped up next, and the stone shimmered with a red hue. "Fire attribute," Li Xuan said.
Li Mei followed, the stone glowing blue to signify a Water attribute. "Water attribute," Li Xuan confirmed.
Finally, it was Li Chen's turn. As he placed his hand on the stone, it shone with a fierce red light, quickly followed by flashes of purple. "Fire and Thunder attributes," Li Xuan declared, a hint of surprise in his voice. "Rare indeed."
With the attributes determined, Li Xuan began to explain the cultivation process. "The first stage is the Body Tempering Stage, where you strengthen your physical body to prepare for the cultivation of Qi. The next stages are Qi Condensation, Foundation Establishment, and Core Formation. Your current goal is to progress through these stages. The heads and elders of the three families are at the Foundation Establishment Stage."
He then directed the group to the second floor of the library. "On the second floor, you will find cultivation techniques suited to your attributes. Be mindful that there are also martial arts techniques stored there, but you should focus solely on cultivation techniques until you reach the third level of the Body Tempering Stage. Your bodies are too weak for martial arts at this stage."
The youngsters ascended to the second floor, where they found numerous cabinets filled with scrolls and books. Each cabinet was labeled according to elemental attributes. Li Chen headed towards the Fire attribute section, where he began to peruse the various techniques. Titles such as "Flame Essence Technique" and "Inferno Heart Sutra" caught his eye, but he continued searching until he found something that resonated with him.
He finally discovered a scroll titled "ThunderFire Refining Technique." This technique absorbed both Fire and Thunder elements from nature into the body. It was a high-grade Yellow level cultivation technique that could be cultivated until the peak of the Foundation Building stage. Satisfied with his choice, Li Chen carefully took the scroll and made his way to the library's entrance.
ThunderFire Refining Technique
A high-grade Yellow level cultivation technique that draws Fire and Thunder from nature into the body.
Elder Li Xuan was sitting by the entrance, awaiting the young cultivators. He took the scroll from Li Chen for registration. "Remember, this technique is for your use only. Return it within seven days," he instructed. "Once you reach the first level of Body Tempering, your bloodline should awaken its first natal power. New powers will awaken at the first, fifth, and ninth levels of each stage."
Li Chen thanked the elder and left the library, feeling a surge of excitement as he anticipated the start of his cultivation journey. As he approached his courtyard, he saw his mother, Wei Lin, waiting outside.
"Mother," Li Chen greeted her warmly.
"Li Chen, tell me about your attributes and the cultivation technique you chose," Wei Lin asked, her eyes filled with curiosity and pride.
Li Chen shared his findings, and Wei Lin's eyes sparkled with approval. "Fire and Thunder, a rare and powerful combination," she remarked. She then handed him a book. "This is a Body cultivation technique from my natal family. We, who possess the Holy Demon's bloodline, use these techniques to strengthen our bodies in parallel with Qi cultivation."
Wei Lin explained how the Holy Demon bloodline provided significant advantages in cultivating the body. "The Holy Demon bloodline makes our bodies inherently stronger. Those who cultivate both Qi and Body techniques can achieve unparalleled strength."
The book contained techniques like "Stone Body," "Bronze Body," and "Silver Body," each designed to enhance different aspects of physical strength and resilience. Li Chen's excitement grew as he realized the potential that lay before him.
Primordial Body Scripture, Volume I
A Wei family body cultivation manual, from Stone Body to the threshold of Gold Body.
Wei Lin, seeing her son's eagerness, shared some of her own experiences with cultivation, offering guidance and encouragement. "Remember, cultivation is a journey. Be patient and diligent."
With his mother's wisdom echoing in his mind, Li Chen entered his room, holding the two precious cultivation techniques. He felt a sense of purpose and determination as he prepared to embark on this new path. His journey into the world of cultivation had truly begun.
